Darren McGuinness is here to start todays update with his beautifully done and displayed 1/144 Revell British Airways Concorde.  Darren caught this jet in it's classic nose down configuration. 


Kai Peters joins us with his 1/48 Tamiya P-51D Cripes A´Mighty.  This is one of the more well known Mustangs that was flown by the US during WW2....the "Blue Nosed Bastards" had quite the reputation.  Kai has brought this famous Mustang to live with his skill.

Mark L. Rossmann is here with his first article on ARC.  This is Mark's very nicely done 1/48 Pro-Modeler F4U-5N Corsair with night fighting gear and a full weapons load.  Welcome to ARC Mark!!!  


Ray Seppala has a creative streak and today he joins us with one of my favourite movie scenes from the movie The Final Countdown.  This in-flight diorama includes his 1/72 Hasegawa Grumman F-14A Tomcat  and 1/72 Hasegawa Mitsubishi A6M2 Zero.  Nice one Ray.....I must rent that movie. 


Laurent Boildieu is here with his impressive looking 1/48 Hasegawa Macchi Mc 202 done up in quite the involved Italian camo schemes.  Laurent also did up some scratchbuilt details. 


Andy Gudbergsson is here with his attractive 1/72 Hasegawa F-3 Tornado done up in Tigermeet markings.  Looks good Andy......I also like seeing Tigermeet markings.

Tim Schneider is here with his impressive 1/48 Hasagawa AV-8B Harrier II Plus in markings for VMA-223 from Twobobs.  Tim weathered his Harrier and built a diorama base and talks about all this in his article.  Welcome to ARC Tim!!! 


Ás de Espadas joins us with a very nicely done 1/48 Hasegawa Messerschmitt Bf-109 G complete with one of those complicated looking camo schemes.  Nice 109 Ás.


Karl W Branson is here with his 1/48 Airfix Hawker Siddeley Buccaneer S2 on a great looking diorama base.  Karl went to the extra trouble to detail his Bucc and his effort were well rewarded with this attractively detailed jet. 


Edison Franco is here with his 1/72 IAI Arava 201.  This is a vacuformed kit but that didn't stop Edison from turning out a finely detailed aircraft in Colombian markings....complete with a realistic looking display base.


Andy Gudbergsson is here with some Weathering tips for the Tools n Tips section.  This is sure to help many people.

Jeff Hamel begins today with his 1/48 Hasegawa A-4F Skyhawk.  Jeff got the look of his Skyhawk just right. I love the colourful markings on USN jets from this time period. 


Matt Robeson is 14 years old and joins us today with his first article on ARC.  This is Matt's excellent looking 1/48 Accurate Miniatures F3F-2 and I'm quite pleased to see it on ARC.  Welcome to ARC Matt!! 


Isaias Castro B. is here with his first article on ARC.  This is his tiny 1/350 Trumpeter Mig29K with folded wings.  I'd go cross-eyed if I tried to do that in 1/350!!!  Welcome to ARC Isaias!!!


Dave Funchall is here today with his 1/48 Tamiya F51D Mustang in SAAF markings.  Dave went all out getting his bare metal finish to look extra special....then he weathered it with such things as gun powder stains.  Nice one Dave.

Bill Lachance gets things started today with another of his beauties.  This is Bill's 1/48 Tamiya Fairey Swordfish Mk. I done up in all it's glory with a full weapons load.  Bill has included some helpful insight into building this Swordfish kit. 


Miguel Ribeiro is here with his "what if" 1/72 'Asas' F-5E Tiger II.  As you know, Portugal never flew the F-5, but that didn't stop Miguel from creating his own very colourful Portuguese F-5.  It looks pretty good. 


Ken Middleton joins us with his 1/48 Monogram 104th Fighter Wing Red Sox A-10.  Ken loves doing in-flight displays and he has included info about how he does these very effective displays.  Great looking A-10 Ken!! 


Derek Derks joins us with his beautifully detailed 1/72 Fujimi Sikorsky CH-53 D Minesweeper diorama.  Derek has included information about minesweeping operations which you will find quite interesting.  His CH-53 diorama is built more or less out of the box believe it or not.

Monday, Apr 25  2005     ANZAC Day  --  Australia and New Zealand   

My deepest respect and sympathies for all remembering this solemn day.  They will never be forgotten.

My daughters had last Friday off school....so we packed up our old minivan and drove 400 KM to attend the 9th birthday party for their friend on Saturday....then we drove back home on Sunday.  I managed to keep the updates going on ARC the past few days while out of town using my laptop, but I'm too tired to get a full done for Monday.  I'll get back to daily updates on Tuesday.


Mark Ross is here from Australia to mark this ANZAC Day... which is one of the most important days in Australia and New Zealand.  This 120mm Light Horseman figure is from the West Australian 10th Light Horse Regiment from Gallipoli

Eugene Trapezontas joins us today with his 1/48 Italeri Mirage F-1 "Talos".  This mirage with the Greek airforce was painted in an anniversary scheme of a mythic Greek figure.  Eugene did much excellent scratchbuilding to detail areas such as the cockpit.  


Fabio M. Moretti is here with a creative diorama....this is his 1/48 Hasegawa F6F-5 Hellcat as it would appear in a museum.  He calls it "Well-earned rest".  The detailing to the floor below the Hellcat further adds to the scene.  nice one Fabio.

Polly Singh is here today with his 1/48 Tamiya A-1J Skyraider done up in a SEA camo scheme and panel line shading and other very finely done weathering.  Polly finished off his Skyraider with noseart. 


Prama Sobari joins us with his small 1/72 Italeri Sea Harrier.  A well done model....but the very best photo is at the bottom of the article.  Very cute indeed.......the Harrier is nice as well.

Andy Stark begins today with his 1/24 MPC Spitfire MkIAndy finished his big Spitfire in the markings of one of the most famous Aces to fly the Spitfire during the BoB .  Andy's Spitfire came out looking great.....especially considering his Spitfire has a nasty start.....as you'll read in his article. 


Tim Schneider joins us with his beautifully done 1/48 Dragon He-162A-2 complete with a diorama base.  Tim did some extra scratchbuilding detail which he talks about as well as how he did the diorama base.  I love the detail on this one as well as the grass.  


Ausonus is here with his first article on ARC.  This is his 1/72 Hasegawa and Revell Polikarpov I-16s, which are posed together in a diorama scene to help show off the detail of these I-16 models. 


Pierre Greutert is a master modeller that never builds his kits without very serious effort.  Today he presents his 1/144 Revell Airbus A380 Part 1 of 3.  This is one very impressive airliner.....part 2 of this article runs tomorrow.

Jaroslav Král is here here with his first arile on ARC.  this is his tiny and excellent looking 1/72 Hasegawa Mitsubishi J8M1 Shusui, which is the Japanese version of the Luftwaffe's Komet rocket powered interceptor.  It's good to see your work on ARC Jaroslav....welcome to ARC!!!


Igor Cernisevski joins us with his beautifully weathered 1/72 Italeri P-47N Thunderbolt.  Igor did lots of extra work to detail his kit and the end results prove that his efforts were not wasted.  Well done Igor. 


Knes Armin joins us with his 1/48 Monogram F-105 D.  This is proof that this older kit builds up well even by today's standards.  Nice one Knes. 


Carlos Quiroz is here with his first article on ARC.  This is his 1/48 Hasegawa Ju-87 B2/U4, which is a darn fine kit and Carlos did it justice and turned out a very pleasing model of this famous dive bomber.  Welcome to ARC Carlos!!!

Derek Derks begin your Saturday update with his 1/48 ESCI Skyraider AEW 1.  Derek put plenty of scratchbuilding effort into this old ESCI kit including building an engine and the wingfolds.  The results are well worth it all his effort.

Eugene Trapezontas is here from Greece with his first article on ARC.  This is Eugene's 1/72 Academy Hawker Tempest done up with D-Day stripes and weathering on a diorama base complete with figures and vehicles. 


Prama Sobari has dropped by with pictures of his 1/72 Hasegawa F-14 Tomcat.  A great looking model......done up in the markings of the F-14 that shot down a Libyan Su-22 on August 19 1981.


Darius Aibara has been busy building another of his resin masterpieces.  This is his 1/48 Belcher Bits RN Lynx HAS Mk 3 which Darius provided a very good article covering the building of his Lynx model. 


Polly Singh is here with 2 Indian jets.  Here are his 1/72 Heller Su-30 UB and 1/72 Aeroclub Folland Indian AF Gnat on a very attractive display base.  Nice one Polly.

Martin Morkowsky is here with his big realistic looking 1/32 Tamiya L.-M. F-16 CJ Block 50.  Martin finished his F-16 in Tiger markings and it appears he enjoyed the build very much.   


Gianni Chirico is here with his 1/72 Revell Douglas A-20C Boston III in desert camo.  This Boston has preshaded panel lines and full weathering and a pic of the model just after the pre-shading was applied.  Nice one Gianni.


Juan Ramon Garcia Martin is here today with his 1/72 Eduard L39 AlbatrosJuan finished his Albatros in Syrian Air Force markings with weathering and built it straight out of the box....check out the cockpit detail....hard to believe this is 1/72 from the box. 


I have a review of the new 1/32 resin F-15C & F-15E Turkey Feather-less Nozzles for Tamiya F-15 kit from Cutting Edge Modelworks.  This set is to replace the original Tamiya nozzles that are 1/4" too long.


I have a review of the 1/72 Ki-61 244th Sentai decal sheet from Lifelike Decals (also comes in 1/48).  The Ki-61 is my favourite WW2 Japanese fighter, so this sheet is a welcome sight.

Patrick Sitters has dropped by with his 1/72 Italeri F-104 A Starfighter.  Patrick finished his Starfighter in bright red Canadian markings using decals from Leading Edge model.  Nice one Patrick.

Dan Hamilton has been very busy doing up his article about The (More Complete) Blue Angels History In Miniature.  Holy heck.......this is quite the collection and a darn fine article to boot.  Grab a hot drink and sit back and enjoy the read.


Bill Lachance is here today with his 1/48 Hasegawa Hawker Hurricane Mk. I.  Bill did his usual beautiful job and used a resin cockpit to further detail his very well done Hurricane. 


Konley Kelley is here with another of his digital images of his models.  Today he presents his 1/48 Monogram Me-262.  It's amazing just how nice the old Monogram Me-262 kit really is.

Eduardo "Fulcrum" Cárdenas is here from Peru with his first article on ARC.  This is his 1/48 Airfix/Heller FAP Mirage 2000DP beautifully finished off in markings for the Peru Air force.


Ercument Sarikaya has dropped by with his 1/35 Scratchbuilt Cardboard P-47D Thunderbolt.  This 3 dimensional cardboard model was constructed from scratch and then painted.   


Shaun Bowman-Davies joins us with his 1/48 Airfix Tornado F-3.  Shaun has included lots of helpful info from the building process of his good looking Tornado.   


I have added some follow-up photos of the completed LEGO® Sopwith Camel that my daughters and I built for the April Fools day update.  They were keen to see me post completed pics of this big beast on ARC.  I must admit this is quite the LEGO kit.


I'm pleased to present pics of the coming release of a 1/48 PB4Y-2 Privateer kit from Cutting Edge.  There's quite a bit of detail put into this new kit and is sure to be of interest to those who enjoy building multi-engined WW2 bombers.

Polly Singh begins today with his 1/48 Academy and Airfix SEAC Spitfires.  Polly has 2 Spitfires in his article including the usual great history and a vintage photo of artwork on one of thezse spitfires.  Great as always Polly. 


Jong-ho Park is here from Korea with his 1/32 Trumpeter Su-27 done up in a beautiful paint scheme.  This is one very big model and Jong-ho enjoyed the finished model quite a bit.  Welcome to ARC Jong-ho!!!

Laurent Boildieu joins us today with his 1/48 Hasegawa Hurricane Mk I.  Laurent decided to finish his Hurricane as a Battle of Britain fighter.  Nice one as usual Laurent. 


Miroslav Adamovic is here with his 1/48 Hasegawa F-86E Sabre finished off in Flightdecs decals for the Yugoslav Air Force.  This is one of the more interesting airforces to fly the F-86.  Looks great Miroslav.


Gianni Chirico is here from Italy with his 1/72 Airfix Douglas A-1H  SkyraiderGianni did some extra work and scratchbuilt a cockpit then finished his Skyraider in marking for the VA-65 - USS Intrepid. Well done Gianni.


I have a preview of the new 1/48 F/A-18C Blue By You Hornets decal sheet from Two Bobs Aviation Graphics.  This sheet features Markings for the CAG jets from VFA-83 and VFA-113.

I've got most of my computer problems sorted out.....after quite a few 18 hour days during the past week.  I had a programmer friend visiting town and between the two of us, we were able to make some badly needed upgrades to my ARC computer (including 2 new hard drives) so my ARC computer now runs 3 hard drives.  I've also been able to recover over 500,000 files from my damaged hard-drive (although some of those files were damaged), so all looks pretty good.  Special thanks to the many people from the ARC family that offered help....that definitely moved things along quicker.   Steve B


Chas Bunch is here with his first article on ARC.  this is his 1/48 Classic Airframes CR-42 which is a lovely looking model and Chas put some nice thought into his photos as well.  Welcome to ARC Chas!!!


Luis Fernando Salazar G. is here from Bolivia with his award winning 1/48 Revell A-37B Dragonfly.  It's always good to see Luis's model on ARC.....I'm not sure how many other people from Bolivia visit ARC.  


Michael Chilestone (MikeC) is here with his first article on ARC.  This is Mike's 1/48 AMT P-40N done up in camo with a Dragon's Teeth (not sharks mouth)  painted on the nose.  A fine looking P-40....welcome to ARC Mike!!!

I hope you enjoyed the April Fools Day update yesterday....I know all of us involved enjoyed creating the articles for that update.  I'd like to thank all the contributors and give special credit to Ming Ho for creating the header banner.


I'm moving forward with replacing one hard drive in my ARC computer and adding a third hard drive for back-up purposes.  I'm also still investigating the retrieval of data from the damaged drive.  I'll be attempting to begin daily updates on Monday.
