Here a set of
resin P-51B-D flaps from Ultracast.
These flaps are a replacement for the kit flaps and permits the modeller to have
accurately lowered flaps, which isn't possible with the kit flaps. The kit
flaps are inaccurate if positioned in the lowered position.

The biggest shortcoming of the Tamiya kit's flap is the curved undercut to the upper inner surface of the flap. This undercut allows modellers to build the kit with the flaps closed, however it is inaccurate if modelled with flaps in the down position.
