A
new book arrived this morning at my house and once I ripped open the box, I
started to read it, I couldn’t put it down! What a fabulous book!
Introducing
the next “Uncovering the…” series of books from Danny Coremans of DACO
Publications.
Danny continues his series of more in depth books this one being number four
“Uncovering the US Navy F4 Phantom”. Like his other books you will not
be disappointed! He has pushed the envelope
of walk-around publications once again by providing the modeler and the
enthusiast with over 900 photos of the Fabulous Phantom. It is printed on high
quality gloss paper entailing 176 pages. This book details every inch of the
Naval F4 like no other. The photos are very clear and crisp illustrating the
complexity of the Phantom from every angle.

The book is 21 x
24 cm (5,33 x 9.5 inch), contains of 176 pages and has additional 2 large
foldouts ( 1 meter / 40" long) with 1/72nd & 1/48th scale with the
various cockpit lay-out drawings. They are exact and well illustrated!
With so many
photos, the reader will find themselves constantly flipping back and forth
between pages as I did. The text is short but very detailed on each page, just
enough to answer questions and to elaborate the various details of the photos
throughout.
So many areas are depicted in vivid
color photos that this short review does it no justice!
All the various
cockpits are photographed in explicit detail including the upgraded drone
models.
Ever wondered how the engines are
removed?
The armament
section shows numerous variations and placement of the missiles and bombs the
Navy Phantoms have carried. A double page with color illustrations give a nice
overview of the armament and will help the modeler to make sure the markings are
accurate and in the correct sequence.
Just look at the wide variety of
weapons on just these two pages!
You can get this
book direct from DACO
Publications website and from various hobby shops. I love it and it
will have a prominent place with my other Phantom books.
