This new decal sheet was produced
by Leading Edge Models out of
Calgary and is available from Uncle
Rick Chin of
Uncle Bill's Hobby.
This sheet contains markings for one Canadian F-18 #118719....a CF-188 410
Squadron Demonstration jet from 2005. In 2005 two Canadian
provinces celebrated their 100 year Centennial marking their joining into the
new country of Canada.
This special sheet contains
artwork for the province of Alberta and Saskatchewan marking their centennials
in 2005. The outside of both tails contains large Red Maple Leaf Canadian
Flags to mark the 40th anniversary of the Red Maple Leaf flag to replace the Red
Ensign. On the LEX fences are a Cougar (large mountain lion) to represent
410 Cougar Squadron. Below the Cougar artwork on the LEX fences are the
Arabic words for "Check Six". This sheet contains all markings
including all stencils and formation lights. The decals are flawlessly
clear on the 1/48 example before me......unfortunately the scans in this review
don't do these decals justice.....they are flawlessly printed. The tail
artwork on the Canadian flags are designed to fit the Hasegawa 1/48 model, but
they will also fit the Revell / Monogram kit with a bit of trimming. The
paint scheme is the low viz scheme with a Gunship Grey false canopy under the
cockpit.
