This new decal sheet from Cutting Edge Modelworks includes markings for very special A-7 in markings to commemorate Desert Storm.

The decals are straight forward.....these are the markings for the A-7E Corsair II BuNo 160552 with VA-72 Blue Hawks, Desert storm CAG bird on the USS John F Kennedy (CV-67) in early 1991.

Desert Strom was one of the proudest events in American and World history in modern times.  Of all the aircraft that marked this historic victory....this particular A-7 is the one I like the most.  It has that great looking Desert camo scheme which was rare among US jets....and the markings on the top wings of this Corsair II with the big black lettering reading "desert storm" completes the look.

To the best of my knowledge this jet was painted in this scheme on the cruise home after it's combat involvement in Desert storm and this jet was active in Desert Storm....as can be seen by the huge number (31) of black camel kill markings on the side of the nose.

The colours used for this paint scheme were custom mixed and the best FS# matches are FS 31575 and FS 30140.

The recommended kit for these markings is the big 1/32 A-7 kit from Trumpeter and I think it's safe to say if you built your 1/32 A-7 in these markings....it would get plenty of attention.

The instructions are clear and include colour drawings to assist in decal placement.  There is a page of text including information about this aircraft and 3 view line drawings showing stencil placement.  Stencils are included this aircraft.

A very nice decal sheet and will be very popular with anyone wanting to build a very special Desert Storm jet.
