Twobobs are big fans of the
JASDF and all their great schemes and this is one of the smartest that
Bob has seen recently. He just "had to do it"!!
Hasegawa released these markings in a 1/72nd scale release of their
F-15J. Armed with this along with a bunch of great reference
material provided by Bruce Schreiber, Twobobs was able to get this sheet
done!
Unknown to most is that this
scheme was applied to four different aircraft and the particular jet
that is on this sheet is the only one that had the shark/dragon mouth
applied. There are other minor differences to include pilot names,
etc.. along with some intake trunk stenciling that is non-existent on
this particular jet.
There are enough markings
for one entire jet on this sheet. The complex dragon markings are
broken up into three segments and there is a ton of stencil data
included ala typical JASDF. It's all there and will take a while
for the modeler to apply. You'll be rewarded with a VERY accurate
and great looking jet when you're done though!
The instruction sheet
features some very detailed information behind the J series Eagle that
is used by the JASDF. This information was provided by ARC
regulars, Tom "Murph" Murphy, Darren "Shead" McTee
and Bruce Schreiber. Murph and Shead are former F-15 pilots and
gave some excellent information on MSIP as well as some of the other
JASDF unique mods done to these jets. The Boeing F-15J Peace Eagle
Program Office also got into the fray and helped as well.
