Siam
Scale is a decal company based in in the Far East and their decals focus
mostly on Air Forces of the Far East, but they also do decals for
aircraft of other Air Forces....such as Israel. This 1/48 decal
sheet focuses on 8 different F-16's of the Republic
of Singapore Air Force. There are enough stencils included to build 2 of
the 8 planes featured on this decal sheet.
This
set is fairly straight forward. The colour picture below is the
only clue about paint colours and camo. I'm guessing the RSAF
F-16's are done using standard US F-16 como layout and colours.....at
least it looks the same. One of the 2 seaters has a tinted front
canopy half as seen in the colour photo below. Because the
F-16's of the RSAF are a standard paint scheme, the only real question
is what markings go on each plane. The 4 pages of instruction
sheets provide detailed info on decal placement and that side of things
is covered in very well. Markings are different on each plane for
the coloured lines at the top of the tail as well as the Squadron
Emblems on the tail and the plane numbers etc. The RSAF F-16A's
and F-16B's have orange stencils for many of the stencils, which is
interesting.
The decals are clearly
printed and should settle down just fine with your regular techniques. The colour of the decals looks very good and the
text on
the tiny stencil decals is very clear.
All
in all a nice set of decals of the Republic
of Singapore Air Force F-16's and I
recommend these to anyone wanting to add a
Republic of Singapore Air Force F-16 to
their display case.
I'd like to thank Siam
Scale Decals for
sending me this review sample.
