1/48 Hasegawa F-16B TNI AU

Indonesia Independence Day 2008

This is my.... well, I can't remember how many F-16 I have built in TNI AU marking. No, not hundreds of them.. I just can't remember because I have none in my house.

This one was built for a customer also. It is a 1/48 scale Hasegawa F-16B with Italeri parabrake. Not the most accurate one especially its side profile. Nothing more can be written about the Hasegawa kit. Everybody can easily find hundreds of them.

I shaved off the backing plate of the intake's navigation lights as Indonesian double-seater F-16s don't have it. Another tough job was to make smooth the inner side of the intake.  Well, it worked, but I choose to replace it with aftermarket part if I build any Hasegawa F-16 in the future.

As for the colors, I used Xtracolor Flanker Pale Blue for FS 35414 which I feel is "too blue", MM Intermediate Blue FS 35164 and MM True Blue FS 35109.  I sprayed lightened colors on the center of panels to break monotonous colors.

Decal are from Zotz' which silvered a bit.  Perhaps the coat was not gloss enough before decalling.  I added the walkway/no step lines along the wings and fuselage using old Hasegawa F-16A decal which has been yellowed due to age.

MM Flat coat was used to finally end the build.
