Kit: Tamiya
1/48 U.S. Tank Destroyer M10
Construction:
I ordered this kit
from Calum along with some other Tamiya Armour kits I prefer aircraft kits over
armour but Tamiya had produced a few great miniature armour kits so I have had
Calum order me in some. The kit went together quite easy however you will need
super glue as for most of Tamiya armour kits come with die cast chassis.
The rest of the kit require normal hobby glue and was a joy to build. The kits
are quite detailed like one would expect from Tamiya.

Painting: The
tank was Painted in Model Master olive drab ANA613. I then dry brushed silver
over the kit and then placed the decals on much like I do with my aircraft
kits, with the gloss and matt paint airbrushed over the kit. I added the Tamiya
Weathering Master set A and B to try and give the tank a worn and battled look.
Finish:
With the tank
painted I glued on the sacks, jerry cans and machine gun. Tamiya include three
choses of M10 tanks from different parts of the European theatre. I decided to
represent the M10 Tank from 703rd Tank Destroyer Bn.,3rd Armoured Division,
Normandy, July 1944
Tanks
