Painting:

It starts with a pre-shading of all the panel lines and after the dark paint had dried I applied white paint on the smaller areas taking care not to cover the  the pre-shaded panel lines.  At this point it was time to apply the sea blue and then the intermediate blue.  To highlight the panels and give the air of a faded looking plane the blue colors were applied very carefully to let the darker panel line shading and the lighter colored panels to show through.

A clear gloss coat was applied and we are ready for decaling, which must be carefully done with the help of liquid microsale to avoid the annoying effect silvering.

After the decals another coat of clear and I applied a black oil wash with burnt Siena over the whole model.  Then a small amount of drybrush and small swipes of a brush with metallic colors for the aging effect.

In the third part of this article I will explain the diorama, I hope that my advice can be of help to other modellers.
