Hi
everyone.
This
is my first submission of article to ARC, I'm a modeller from the Republic
of
Korea.
Here
I would like introduce my EA-6B. The kits & aftermarket sets I
used are;
- 1)Monogram
EA-6B,
- 2)Paragon
wingfold set,
- 3)Blackbox
cockpit set,
- 4)Cuttingedge
correction set,
- 5)Aeromaster
decal. (48-528, it contains 4 different type of decal set)
As
you can see from another article, the aftermarket sets such as the wingfold &
cockpit sets are far more than my expectation, too precise and detailed to
depict them enough with my hand. I strongly recommend you especially
use the Paragon wingfold set if you want to pose your plane with the wings
folded. But it’s a real labor to fit with wings in the kit!!!
As
to the Aeromaster decal, you have to know that they generally don't
contain specific data decals, so I think you'd better purchase another
decal sheet if you want your model to be seen as more realistic &
detailed with decal work. But the overall quality of the sheet itself
was quite good.

I
added some scratch-built detail onto the plane. Main detail-up focused
on
- 1)mechanism
under cockpit & hatch-open status (due to the lack of enough reference
photos, there are some inaccuracy compared to the real plane, but
tried to be seen similar as much as I could)
- 2)mirrors
& some structures like coil connected to a mic(?) inside the
canopy,
- 3)ladder
& step door on the nose, and so on.
I
have made several airplanes so far, mainly in 1/48 scale, never had hard
time like this before. But as much labor as it required, I
also got the same level of satisfaction in the end.
Thank
you for looking at my work, and I hope you enjoy making this model, too.
Choi
