"Ghost Mustang"

This is one of my first "Revenge Series" models!  Have you ever attempted a kit only to have it whip you?  Sometimes those models are "test flown" into the nearest object - shattering into pieces!  Admittedly, I've had more than my fair share of those incidents!

I first attempted this model in my teenage years... and yes, it whipped me!  None of the "features" worked!  Now nearly 20 years later I attempted it again.  This time with much better results.

I think the first run of this model was in the 50's and like many models of that era, it had/has working features.  The landing gears are powered by a tiny motor in the base.  The engine casting houses another small motor which spins the propeller and the little toggles on the base drop the bombs stored under the wings.

Twenty years later this was an enjoyable build, and most of the parts fit nicely.  If you're careful with your glue you will get a nice, clear mustang.   I didn't like the way the glued seams showed through the clear plastic, so I "framed" the model with bare metal foil, creating a neat effect I think.  Revenge is sweet sometimes, so don't fear taking a "second crack" at a model that may have beaten you in the past!

My best to all the ARC'ers out there!
Tom
