United States of America Independence Day 2006

Some people live a rich full life of social interaction, however they are missing out on the anti-social, hideous, nerd fest that is modeling. This is my first submission to ARC thanks for viewing it. I decided a while back that I would make my father, who is an avid aviation aficionado ( restores old Bellancas, Rearwins, lawn mowers), a wildcat for fathers day. I am pretty sure he would have liked a F4F-3 ( with yellow wings) or even an F3F however he should be happy with what he gets :) This is the standard Tamiya love fest. Great engineering, wonderful detail and cardboard thick decals. I also used an assortment of aftermarket details such as the Aires Pratt & Whitney R-1830, the Eduard detail and some other odds and ends. I also made use of Squadrons "F4F Walkaround" which was a great resource although scarce were pictures of the -4.?After doing this kit I have the ambition to maybe start the Brewster Buffalo, the most meligned cousin to the Wildcat.?

I had fun building this kit and look forward to submitting more to this fine website. I must now return to that dark, dank "lair" where models are created. Shout-outs to my coconspirators Kevin and Rob. Good luck with that Italeri Tornado........... :P
