This is the 1/72nd
scale Mig19 kit from Bilek. I decided to make this kit look exactly like it's
real sister ... in run-down shape as she can be found in the Szolnok Airport
museum, Hungary. I made resin replacements for the nose, cockpit, canopy,
ejection seat, weapon pylons, air intakes to improve the overall look of the
model.

I used Humbrol
metallic paints to reproduce the not-perfect metallic look of the plane as it is
shown on the above photo as well. I also used Humbrol enamels for weathering.
One interesting point of the weathering is the aged color of canopy. This was
achieved by lightly spraying on a mix of cream color and flat varnish over the
clear part.
Decals came from the range of HAD
(Hungarian Armour Decals).
