Today is the National
Day of Spain, and to commemorate this I would like to show you my last model. It
is a 1/48 D model of the Hornet from Hasegawa. Spanish Air Force bought in 1978,
72 F/A-18 Hornet in the program FACA. The Hornet in the Spanish Air Force (Ejercito
del Aire, EdA) is called the C.15 for single seaters and CE.15 for double seaters.
This model represents the CE.15-01 which was the first Hornet to land in Spain
(July, 10th, 1986). As you can see from the decals in it's tail, this Hornet
celebrates the 75000 hours of flight in Spain.

Since this kit corresponds to the
"D" version, I had to create a "B" Spanish model,
mainly with modifications in the tails and forward landing gear. The decals
are from an Spanish manufacturer. The paint job was done using Humbrol
enamels, finished with Vallejo Matt Varnish and weathered with chalk
pastels
To finish.....it is a very good
model in which I have tried to apply several techniques learned from ARC web
pages. As pending tasks, I would like to add FOD covers in the intakes, some
weapons, and RBF tags. Next model will be a Harrier II Plus (1/48) from the
Spanish Navy.
