1/72 Academy P-47 Razorbacks

Hi. I am Mattias from Sweden and here are my first contribution to ARC.  I started this wonderful hobby back in December 04 and am now totally hooked.  Needless to say I am still a rookie in this game, with now eight finished models.  Here are my attempts trying to replicate the beautiful P-47D Razorbacks from Academy. I built 'em simultaneously o.o.b.  No boobytraps on the way, just replaced the original horrible wheels with new resin ones from Pavla and added seatbealts made from Tamiya tape.  Preshading was done on Little Chief and both were sludgewashed to highlight the panel-lines.  I used Tamiya and Gunze acrylics.  Wasn´t too confident in how the alu finish would turn out on the *Doogan* aircraft, but now afterwards, I must say I´m pleased though.  Used Tamiyas XF-16 for this.  I´ll probably venture into the Alclad II world eventually.  Both models were given their final, two thin coats of Gunze flat to seal everything.  Decals are from Aeromaster and Eagle Strike.  I plan to add threads for the antenna wire, but I need to do some research on this first.  I´ve seen the wire attached on either the right or left side of the antenna, and sometimes none is used at all.  Could someone help me out here please?  All in all, an, enjoyable four-week project and I´ll definitely build more of ém as I´ve stacked the closet with more Jugs.

Well Enjoy.

Mattias
