  Sweden National Day 2005

This is a diorama of a B16 Caproni ("B" is for bomber) on an airbase somewhere in Sweden during WWII. The Swedish Airforce imported 84 Caproni Ca313 from Italy in 1940. Some of the aircraft were used as torpedo-bombers. 1945 was the last year for the Caproni in swedish service. Sad to say.... no single Caproni was saved for the museum. In the airforce-museum in Linköping there is a mock-up full-scale B16 which was used for a TV-series.

The aircraft in my diorama is from Italeri with scratchbuilt interior and exhausts. Its a fine kit despite is age but could benefit from some detailing. The truck is an Italeri Opel-Blitz conversion and the Bofors 40mm m/36 anti-aircraft gun is scratchbuilt. The figures (and cows!) are all Preiser and Airfix.
