Silly Week 2005

Why should the car guys have all the fun?

The History

The premise here is that someone from FAA got a look at that nifty Mosquito night fighter scheme and the old interservice rivalry kicked in.

The Model

I had a messed up Hasegawa SBD on my hands and figured a little comic relief would be timely.  The nose is from a Matchbox Wellington.  Outer wing panels are Heller Hurricane.  Pilot's canopy and upper nose are from a P-51B.  Interior Britified per contemporary practice on Fireflies and such.  Fin is a tailplane from a Matchbox He-170.   Radome from a Matchbox Lancaster for which I have other plans when I get around to them.  Decals from a Matchbox Mozzie (I don't think I've ever completed a Matchbox kit as such, but they sure are great for spare parts).  Bombs from an Airfix (for a change!) Stirling .

Some text about your model goes here.  This would possibly include text about any resin or photo etched items used to create your kit, aftermarket decals used, paints used, things you liked or disliked about the kit.  Things used to weather your model.  You can also include history about the full sized plane if you want.
