1/72 Tamiya F4U-1D Corsair
(FG-1D FAS)

This is the 1/72 Tamiya Corsair, which is an excellent kit that needs nothing more to shine well.  The model represents a Corsair FG-1D of the Salvadoran Air Force (FAS) that was in good condition after being stored in a hangar for 10 years and was be used in the war of 1969 against Honduras and that is well-known like "la guerra del futbol". The model in question (207) appears different because of the cannibalizing of several other Corsairs to get parts, for that reason it is possible to  notice that it has panels of different colors and the standard of the USAF underneath the logo of the FAS in the fuselage can even be seen.

The model was painted using humbrol in enamel pants, and sealed with acrylic matt from Microscale.  I weathered it with gray.

For more realism several details in the cockpit were added. The model does not require putty and the fit is almost perfect. The napalm tanks were borrowed from the A-37 Academy. In east aim model represents one of the last Corsairs participating in air combat, and the first and only time Corsairs made by the Goodyear fought against those built by Vought.
