  US Independence Day

By now we've all heard the story of the female A-10 pilot Kim Campbell.  She was the pilot that brought back her badly damaged plane after a mission over Baghdad.  Also on that day....April 8 2003....another plane from the Idaho ANG....an A-10 was shot down over Baghdad.  This plane was flown by a male pilot and maybe this is why the story never got much coverage....also the pilot had to be rescued, so there was suppression of the story until his safe return after being rescued.  The picture below shows the pilot being returned to safety after his rescue.

The A-10 that he was flying when he was shot down as #691.  This particular A-10 had made a few visits to Alberta over the years including the Lethbridge Intl Airshow in 2001.  Kim Campbell was one of the pilots on this fateful day and above is "the other" pilot  that was shot at in the famous "A-10s over Baghdad" on April 8th., in which two A-10's got in trouble.

He is from one of the 3 squadrons of ANG A-10 units that were deployed in Iraq, they flew A-10s in a "pool".  The a/c in question was 691, which is featured on the decal sheet that is available from Uncle Rick Chin of Uncle Bill's HobbyClick here to see a review of this decal sheet.

For my A-10, I rescribed the model's panel lines as well as added the upgrades by scratchbuilding them.  I also include a photo of A-10 #691 with each decal sheet.  I hope you all enjoy seeing my A-10.

This decal sheet is for sale through me Uncle Rick Chin of Uncle Bills Hobby.
