EF-2000 Spanish Air Force Tiger Meet 2016

This model is an Hasegawa 1/72 Eurofighter EF-2000 single seat from the box 01570. I decided to show this bird with an attractive Spanish Air Force special scheme for 142 squadron at the Tiger Meet 2016 at Zaragoza AB Spain. This special scheme represents squadron come back as tiger unit with the Eurofighter before it used Mirage F-1M. This squadron is member of 14 Ala (Wing), this jet is registered as 14-06 (C16 39) and usually based at Albacete AB Spain. I used aftermarket decals sheet D72112 from ModelMaker polish brand, decals are accurate with awesome saber tooth tiger for the tail and it is possible to do all Eurofigthers numbers and units markings from Spanish Air Force. I followed my personal pictures regarding colors I used a mix of Gunze Grey H57 and H307 for fuselage and light Grey H311 for nose. I used a combination of Gunze metal color (stainless H213, dark iron H214) for exhausts and rear exhaust panels are Gunze silver H08. I show the plane with opened air brake and I added two hand painted stripped Gunze grey H305 wings tanks and empty armament pylons. All landing gears and interior traps are Gunze white H316.

I did a slight weathering with AMMO products (leaks marks underside and on flaps, and APU exhaust very dirty) and used a combination mix of flat and gloss AMMO varnish to secure decals and weathering.

I hope you like my model and pictures with 2016 patches and also Red Flag patches. I had the great opportunity to see this plane in action in 2016 at Zaragoza AB (see my own pictures taken over there) and also the year after in 2017 this unit at Nellis AB USA for Red Flag 17-2 during spotter trips. I dedicated this model to Retired Colonel Donald "Don" Verhees USAF Vietnam war F-4 WSO and the godfather of the NATO Tiger association who died beginning of March 2021.
