Machine Head ( https://www.machinehead1.com/ ) is my favourite metal band and this year (2019) they are on their "Burn my eyes" tour, named after their debut album which was released in 1994.

Already some years ago I had the idea to give a model a Machine Head painting, the Learjet seemed to be perfect therefore: A cool jet for a great band!

The model was easy to build, just the front window did not match really well. After I glued the window into its frame, I clamped the fuselage at the rear end of the window in a circle template and waited two days. So the window fitted well.

First I painted the rear half of the jet in gloss orange. When it was dried, I painted dots in yellow, red and dark red over the orange surfaces.  Before those dots were dried, I over coated the dots with thinner, so that they flowed a bit.

The front fuselage and leading edges were painted in gloss black. During the painting I attached the self printed decals in two layers.

Clear varnish seals the Machine Head Machine.  I really enjoyed designing the paint scheme and making it come true!
