Here is my recent build. A Tamiya 1/48 P-51D Mustang depicting the aircraft of Major Walker "Bud" Mahurin when he was assigned with the 3rd Air Commando Group at Mangaldan Airfield, Luzon on January 1945. Major Mahurin was a veteran in the ETO with the 56th FG, scoring 19.5 kills in a P-47D Thunderbolt. After being shot down over France (and evading capture), he was sent back to the US. He was then assigned to the 3rd Air Commando Group, arriving in Leyte in December 1944. His first kill in a Mustang happened on January 14, 1945 when he shot down a Mitsubishi Ki-46 Dinah over Bagabag Airfield. His P-51D "The Chief" has his previous ETO kill marks together with a lone Japanese kill.
