Well, the CT-133 Silver Star. Canadair produced 656 of these fine trainers back in the late 50s. A bunch were sold or given to friendly countries, while some carried on serving Canada right up till 2004

The model kit is absolutely ancient. First molded in 1958, the shape and general look is just fine, but wow…….The ejection seats look more like a massive lazy boy recliner. There is no wheel wells of any kind. A flat panel for the nose and a massive hole where the rear wheels belong. The front, well not much point trying to fix that. The rear got a large sheet of plastic installed to give the illusion of solid metal. The kit comes with an engine. No doubt wrong for a Canadian built plane, but for late 1950s modelling its not too bad.

The very nice decals are from Canuck decals. The sheet came with options for three green and grey cam’d up planes. I went with the 1959 version. Always liked the CT-133. Also have built 3 in 1/32 scale. One of those is one of my favourite ever models on the shelf. Think I have 3 or 4 paint options I wish to do.
