Academy F-16A converted into Hellenic F-16C
This is yet another 1/144 F-16A kit from Academy that I used to convert to a later variant with my own self-made markings . This time I have converted it to a Hellenic Air Force F-16C from 341SQN “Arrows” with a special 60th anniversary scheme tail art after having seen a build by George Athanasiadis in 1/32 on ARC. I was quite impressed by the Aegean colour scheme of HAF F-16s. I shall dispense with the details of the built which is quite standard by now. Photos #3, #4 and #5 says it all.

I had to rescribe some of the panel lines to help accentuate the weathering later. I mixed
my own colours for the unique HAF 3-tone grey wrap around camouflage using Tamiya and Mr Hobby acrylics and airbrushed them freehand. A coat of gloss was applied before application of the decals. This was followed by another coat of gloss. I applied pretty heavy weathering on the surfaces as this is an operational bird. Then I applied a two coats of flat for the finish. I applied Mr Metal Aluminium and buffed it up for the burner can.
