This is my 24th Starfighter. My SIXTH big scale Hasegawa one. I have been getting good deals on these things. Some from ARC's best trader DonG, and others from hobby shows. This one was a parts kit from a show. It started as a F-104C. Lucky the cut away CF-104 style tail was still in the box. The landing gear was badly damaged. I tried to fix it during my last build but it would not work. So, I made this one wheels up. That went surprisingly well.

To make it wheels up I needed a stand strong enough for a 1/32 scale kit. I had a coat hanger in the basement with a star base for years not doing anything. So I built the kit around the coat hook. Finished the model and started the paint. The difficulty on this paint scheme was not the yellow and black but the white. Under all the decals is the white. In 1/48 scale you can use Belcher Bits decals for this project. In 1/32 the white backgrounds do not exist. Hence, paint. The decals used are a mix of Leading Edge and Canuck.

Sure does add some colour to my 1/32 scale shelf. One more Big Starfighter to go. In the photos I added all my Big 104s and of course some 1/48 Tigers.
