1/32 Revell F-4F Phantom

Revell's 32nd scale Phantom is a nice little kit.  It has some short falls, but they're not too difficult to resolve.  I had some parts left over from a Tamiya F-4 which I used to correct some of the problems, namely the cockpit and the tail fin cap. I also added the Tamiya crew.

I used a replacement resin nose to correct the shape of the kit's nose and I added a set of seamless resin intakes.  They were designed for the Tamiya kit, so they needed some modification to make them fit.

I rebuilt the nose wheel strut as the kit part was too small.

The decals for the Norm 72 camouflage scheme came from AirDoc, and there were a large number of stencils to apply!

For the colour scheme I used Xtracolour enamels.

I've always liked the look of the German F-4s in the Norm 72 scheme and now I have one in my collection.

Sitting alongside the RAF FGR.2 the contrast is quite striking!
