1/32 Revell Junkers Ju 88A-1

This is my second submission to ARC - and yet another 1/32 Ju 88A-1 from Revell.

I built this kit straight from the box without any modifications in the model itself, but I used Eduard's photo etch parts - here in Germany distributed by Revell as a complete set for interior an exterior.

Building up the Cockpit is quite a lot of work. More than 120 pieces have to be glued in place - the photo etch parts not mentioned! The overall quality is really great, but there are some drawings in the manual where you can only guess where you have to place a part.

Wings, airframe an rudders also match really good. By the way - the poor fit of the canopy is the result of my grubby hands, but it's no damage to the model. I just made the canopy removable 'cause I want to show the cockpit whenever it's possible. Taking the photos, I didn't pay attention and forgot to adjust the canopy - that's all.

All painting was done using Tamiya's acrylic paint. For weathering, I used pastell chalks. I also applied some highlighting an filtering with airbrush. Unfortunately, only a little bit of all this work can be seen, because sun was hiding when I took the photos.

I must admit that this is one of the best Revell-kits I've ever built - but it's not shake-and-bake. Like mentioned above, the manual isn't completely clear in all points and several parts need some sanding to fit in place - especially in the nose section. But this one was a big fun ... and now, I will slaughter the big 1/32 Revell Heinkel He 111 P-1, which is already waiting!
