1/32 Revell Arado 196

Well, here you see my feeble attempt at Revell's relatively new release of the Arado 196.  The overall fit and tooling of this kit was quite good.  And as I am sure most of you have read, the OTB detail of the cockpit was quite good and a pleasure to build.  I tend to be an OTB builder myself and only on occasion might buy an aftermarket seat or something.  The kit was painted with Model Master and White Ensign enamels.  The only decals I used were the Viking ship and a fuel decal or 2 the rest of the insignias were painted on. I'm not to fond of decals, can never get them to look right.

I am not a panel line pre shader nor a post shader. I tend to be a constant panel line shader, always fading in and out looking for what I feel works best for the kit. The base colors were tinted back with either a white a gray or a pre mix version of the base color. I am constantly working the fading or the "bleaching" of the base color, always going back and forth looking for just the right look.

This was my first attempt at a "splinter" camo, I rather liked it, not to hard. I am usually a free hand camo guy. I hope you all like it. I think I will try the Revell 1/32 Ju 88 next.
