Photos
are the large scale P-80C ( converted back to a “B” model).
This is a limited run, multi-media kit that is definitely NOT a “fall
together” exercise.
Major fit issues around the intakes require a great deal of
patience to deal with.

Further,
I’d recommend strongly that the kit gear be replaced with the white metal
offerings from Scale Aircraft Conversions, which has corrected the placement of
the kit “wishbone” by putting it on the correct side, as well as strengthen
the gear, a most necessary option. (As you can see, a substantial amount of
weight was required to keep it from “tail sitting”).
An Avionix cockpit set was used, except for the beautiful photoetched
instrument panel ( a 1/8” block had to be placed below the seat to achieve the
proper elevation.
The
model was first primed using Testors ModelMaster gloss black enamel and followed
by 6 shades of Alclad II.
The red, white and blue are Model Master Enamels tinted to match the
existing photographs of this particular aircraft.
The decal markings are those of the 94th Aero Squadron,
painted in this high visibility scheme in 1947, prior to deployment to Alaska.
These were custom made by Keith Davidson, Red Pegasus Decals of Columbus, Ohio.
The power cart is from True Details.
At least I now feel I’m ready to tackle the T-33 when it comes out.
